The MK Tribute is finally complete.

This giant, and biggest video game fan art collaboration so far started in September 2011, had a pause till June 2012 and continued till yesterday.



The last two needed submissions were Shao Kahn from MK vs. DC Universe and Jarek in his alternate design from MK Armageddon


All playable Mortal Kombat characters, and many of the rumored and unplayable ones were drawn by fans in their many different designs and costumes from Mortal Kombat 1-9.

This means that not less than 304 illustrations were created for this project, including very unpopular and unliked guys like Bo Rai Cho, Striker, Jarek and even Dairou and Meat.

Artists which have like, 1000 views here on dA and are rarely drawing fan art from professional artists which earn their bread with their art were on board of this giant project.

Thanks a damn lot @ everyone involved.

Since May this year I am creating detailed galleries for every character which includes descriptions of the characters, their fighting styles and special moves and of course their part in the story of the specific games. There are Bio Images, Screenshots and Images from their endings, every artist is of course credited.

I am currently at MKDA / MK5, due to other projects like the upcoming King of Fighter's Anniversary Tribute and other stuff ongoing at Game-Art-HQ it will be April next year I guess till all 304 galleries are made.

It is really damn impressive how many of you participated in this project.  It will kontinue most likely in Summer 2015 when all galleries are done and Mortal Kombat X is released and we know all its characters and their different looks. Would also love to go a different route in the future away from character related fan art to something more focussing on the rich backstory of Mortal Kombat.
