Back in September 2011 we started our first big Art Collaboration here to publish it on Game-Art-HQ.com
The big Mortal Kombat Tribute started with the idea to get all the different around 65 playable MK characters drawn ..even including the not so known characters
like Drahmin from Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance, here drawn in his alternate design for the project, or Shinnok from Mortal Kombat 4.
In the end, it took us three months all the 65 + 15 more characters which were unplayable or just joke characters were drawn for this project. Websites like Eventhubs promoted the gallery which was seen over 300k times on GA-HQ till today.
In Summer 2012 i thought about expanding this gallery since it seemed to be a damn fun thing for the artists who are fans of the games, and to be honest..to get something like this done is like a big challenge, and i like to write about video game characters, be they as popular as Scorpion and Sub Zero or disliked like Dairou and Kobra.
So the 2nd Round started in June 2012 and i started the really crazy goal to get the characters drawn in all their different costumes this time.

You can see what this means for some of the characters with those thumbs which show the "evolution" of Raiden from Mortal Kombat 1 up to MK9.
Thought there would be around 100 different designs + the 65 already drawn ones from before..but i was wrong and in the end over 300! different character designs came together.
In the terms of raw numbers this is even beating our 25th Anniversary of Street Fighter Tribute from 2012 which had around 200 submissions for the 88 characters in the game. This is the biggest fighting game related art collaboration ever. Her eon dA, on Game-Art-HQ, everywhere.
To make the Mortal Kombat Tribute not only something special because it is big, i updated the old galleries + made the new ones with a much bigger content than before. The galleries have screenshots of the biographies of the characters, their endings and 2-3 additional screenshots showing the characters and each fan art is accompanied with a description of the character, his story, his moves and last but not least the important information who drew the artwork, including a link to his own dA page or another website of his choice of course.

Am still working on these galleries, depending on the character and game they take 30-90 minutes to make for me. Now multiply that to over 300 galleries and you get quite a sum of time together. But the result is stunning awesome.
This giant project is almost finished now with only 2 of the over 300 designs not drawn.
The left Character designs are from Mortal Kombat Armageddon and are Jarek's Alternate and Kai's Alternate
If you don't mind drawing unpopular characters like those, you are damn welcome to help me finishing this big art tribute.
I can provide hi-res screenshots for all three characters if needed.
