Dem Fighting Game News!

Yup, some good stuff happened last week, you probably know about it all already but I want to share these news and my humble opinion anyway



MORTAL KOMBAT X




is getting a 2nd Kombat Pack with four more kharacters for the game.

I was expecting Fujin, Sareena and two of the revenant  guys like Sindel and Stryker or Kabal but was as wrong as I could be with my own guesses.

Instead we get BO RAI CHO from the old MK Deadly Alliance and Deception games who made a very short cameo during the story mode of MKX and it looks like they will make him a more serious guy this time. I hope at least one of his three variations will be really silly drunken master stuff though.

There is  a new Cyborg who seems to combine Sektor, Cyrax and I am not sure, maybe Smoke or Cyber Sub-Zero or the never playable Hydro?
Seems his name is "Tri-Borg"

After we got the Predator as DLC in MKX I really hoped for the Alien, and that is what we get but with an interesting twist. Imagine that friggin' Baraka is the latest victim of the popular Xenomorphs and the new Alien gets his wild behaviour as well as those blades at its arms + the long teeths.
I guess that we will see at least one variation being about the more traditional Alien franchise moves though.

The last one of the four is another guest kharacter. And someone I don't remember anyone asking for. Leatherface from Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
Yo, Netherrealm Software...work together with the Terrordrome developers already and create a cool fighting game about horror movie characters already.


Personally I could not care less about Leatherface being in MKX but the other three look like they will mean a lot of fun. I hope a few more stages could be added to the game though.



STREET FIGHTER X




F.A.N.G is the last of the four new characters in SFV and Yoshinori Ono was very happy that they were finally able to reveal a character before images of him were leaked already. but you know what?



....of course.



THE KING OF FIGHTERS XIV




Basically I only want to scream one sentence at you: MY WAIFU ANGEL IS BACK IN KOF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But there are also King, Ralph (not on steroids anymore..thanks), Kula and Geese's cool henchman Billy Kane..one of the most badass fighting game characters ever made in my opinion.

The really big news in this trailer is the one that KOF XIV has 50 characters which means that the leak I saw months ago might be right. This totally screams that it could be a dream match game like KOF 98 and 2002 but if the leak is true we see around 12 completely new characters in KOF XIV and that sounds like its the start of a new story. It seems KOF XIV is something quite big and in the works for years. Sony is directly working with SNK btw it seems similar to how they worked with Capcom on SFV. It looks also like the graphics are getting a bit better with every new trailer and I wonder if they changed Kyo's hair to brown after the negative reactions.

I am super happy that we get another big KOF game and according to people who played it yesterday at the Playstation Xperience, it totally has the oldschool KOF feel. They liked it.

Last but not least , aother old SNK fighting game franchise seems to return in soem form on the Playstation 4 and Vita.

Fucking Last Blade 2 was amazing for its time and I would call it one of the best 10 or 15 2d fighting games ever made. Only its logo was shown at the conference yesterday ..we don't know if it will be a simple port or a remake or a remaster or if it even gets netplay.
